Mandee Metzger

IMG_0124Mandee is a Yoga Teacher who completed a 500 Hour Advanced Vinyasa Yoga Teacher training with Rolf Gates, international yoga teacher and author of Meditations from the Mat: Daily Reflections on the Path of Yoga and Meditations on Intention and Being: Daily Reflections on the Path of Yoga, Mindfulness, and Compassion.  She completed an RYT 200 Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training with Dana Hot Yoga in the Philadelphia area, a Yin Yoga Teacher Training under Corina Benner at Integral Yoga Institute in NYC, a Yoga for Trauma and Addiction training with Transformation Yoga Project, an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist Certification with Himalayan Institute and an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach Certification with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in NYC. Currently she is deepening her knowledge of yoga, teaching and practice in a 800 Hour Certified Yoga Therapist program.

Mandee grew up in Lancaster, PA, and moved to the Philadelphia area after graduating from Arcadia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration. After 10 years, she has moved back to her hometown and currently resides in downtown Lancaster.

She’s had a passion for health, wellness and nutrition for over 15 years, beginning in grade school when she would pick up books to read like “Eat, Drink, & be Healthy: The Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating” by Dr. Walter Willett. Mandee’s “be simple be healthy” philosophy of nutrition and healthy lifestyle has evolved as she experimented and learned what works for her own body over the years to keep her weight stable and to make her feel her best. Mandee doesn’t believe in dieting, but believes in making small lifestyle changes that leads to weight loss/maintainence and overall healthy well-being.

She was first introduced to yoga through an 11th grade field trip but didn’t make yoga a regular practice until years later when she started to train for the 2013 Philadelphia Marathon and noticed the benefits it had for the physical and mental body.

If she’s not teaching yoga, working with clients, making Scentea Organic Skincare body scrubs and bath salts, or learning, you can find her with her 4 pets (a French bulldog, cat, guinea pig and parakeet), drinking coffee or tea at a local cafe, adventuring outdoors, reading, traveling, or spending time at the gym, Target or Wegmans. 🙂
