Ayurveda is known as the Sister Science of Yoga, and, having its roots in India, is one of the world’s oldest holistic (whole-body) healing systems. Its focus is on balance between mind, body, and spirit. Imbalances that are not addressed may bring mental or physical illness, to an individual, and hence, balance needs to be brought back into order to restore health and wellness while focusing on the cause of the imbalance and working with opposites to bring balance. Supporting the digestive fire is also important for health in terms of nutrient absorption and elimination of waste.
Ayurveda recognizes that not “one size fits all”; each person’s individual nature, situation, lifestyle, age, geographic region, current climate/season, etc. is accounted for.
